Our Story
THE SUMMER SMOOJ WAS BORN
Smooj is the brainchild of the creative team at HOMES Brewery. It was 2020—the pandemic was raging and seltzer was booming. Like many breweries, we asked ourselves, “Should we make one?”
The problem: seltzer is boring and we are not. So we tinkered till we came up with something thrilling and wholly original: a colorful, fruit-packed hard smoothie we named Smooj.

Smooj Hard Smoothie is a whole new genre of alcoholic beverage absolutely loaded with real fruit rather than artificial flavoring. It’s like an adult-smoothie-in-a-can — with just a *hint* of carbonation.
All Smooj flavors are gluten free, dairy free, and vegan. Some flavors contain coconut – the full ingredient list for each flavor can be found on the product page or item packaging.
Surprisingly, no. Smooj is shelf-stable at room temperature (<70 degrees F). However, it tastes better and lasts longer when stored cold.
Once Smooj arrives at your home, we recommend you pop it in the fridge ASAP. The sooner it chills, the sooner you can enjoy😋

Piña Colada and Tropical Trip Smooj are good for 270 days (9 months) after the canning date. All other flavors are good for 180 days (6 months). You’ll find a batch code (MMDDYYXXRXXXXX:XX) on the bottom of the can to help you identify the canning date.

Smooj is loaded with 100% real fruit which can settle overtime, so when you flip the can right side up to drink, it gently mixes back together. Warning: don’t shake your cans—Smooj is carbonated!
Smooj Labs are our innovative new flavors, first released in small batches out of our HQ in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This process enables our team to experiment widely and collect instant feedback from drinkers.
If a Smooj Lab is particularly awesome, we may scale up to distribute out of state. These out-of-state Lab drops are extra exciting, with tons more folks participating in the feedback loop!
